Hi guys and welcome back to CheckSix ESEA coverage! I’m trying to get my way through the last couple regular season matchups to get to the exciting part: the playoffs. I’m sorry if that’s a spoiler for anyone, but CheckSix has indeed made it to the post-season. But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. The match we’re going to look at today is against Team Legion. Ever since showing up on the scene, they’ve been racking up the wins, albeit a little quietly. Coming into this game, they had been looking to bounce back from a two game losing streak while CheckSix was riding high on a six game winning streak. Here’s how the games played out.
Results:
xSixSuppy > LgNBoss 2:1
xSixMystik > LgNLuxury 2:0
xSixMkengyn < LgNChita 1:2
xSixwinDy > LgNMystic 2:0
One thing I found interesting was that, out of eight games, the Legion protosses went forge fast expand in seven of them. The only exception was Chita cannon rushing Mkengyn on Metalopolis. That nook under the mineral line has been a bane to many a zerg player. Suppy’s loss to Boss came from essentially massed void rays which I was amused by because that tactic is rarely seen outside of bronze league and 4v4. Juan’s longer game against Mystic was pretty impressive because he essentially won it through drops. During the main engagement, one drop took out a base and most of the drones at another. As always, thanks for reading and stay tuned for more CheckSix ESEA summaries!
